A heating cylinder of original design

Some industries need heating cylinders for their industrial process. To satisfy this need, ISB Technologies offers you the heating cylinder by infrared radiation, an original design of cylinder with low thermal inertia.

Disadvantages of « classic » heating cylinders

The heating cylinders ensure very high temperature rises, sometimes reaching more than 250°C. Thus, they carry out operations such as: baking, polymerization, drying, assembly, complexing, lamination, gelling. These operations are carried out on products, in the form of sheets, films or fabrics, running continuously.

However, the structure of these cylinders is often complex. Indeed, having a high inertia, they operate by conduction from a heat transfer fluid or electrical resistance. In addition, given the importance of the moving mass, the motorization of such a cylinder has to be adapted. Finally, this type of cylinder does not allow perfect temperature regulation in its transverse direction.

Advantages of infrared radiation heating cylinder

The heating cylinder by infrared radiation has none of these disadvantages. This cylinder, on the contrary, has a low thermal inertia. It consists of a casing pivoting around its axis, in contact with the product to be treated. Its heating device by short infrared radiation is mounted on a fixed support inside the cylindrical envelope.

Given the nature of the envelope and its heating principle, the use of this cylinder with very low thermal inertia makes it possible to obtain temperature regulation with a very short response time.

Possible application in many fields

The cylinder heated by infrared radiation is the result of significant technological progress. As a result, its application is possible in many industrial fields, in particular in the textile industry, in that of paper, cardboard, plastic films, metal sheets or even in the food industry.
